Tampa - Sterile Compounding Technician

About the jobKey Responsibilities • Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication. • Prepares intravenous (IV) compounds or any other medication in any pharmacy. • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles, etc., with prescribed tablets and capsules. • Assists in properly storing incoming supplies and drug. Counts stock to maintain accurate inventory records. • Monitors and/or performs daily function of cleaning hoods or other equipment and records information. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods. • Ensures security of Protected Health Information as per HIPAA requirements. • Assists pharmacist and/or sales and marketing to prepare, test, and present new products. • Completes orientation, training, and competency evaluation of pharmacy personnel. • Employees in this role will be required to remove all jewelry, makeup, finger nail polish, or false nails when cleaning.
Set yourself apartBasic Qualifications • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Ability to operate a computer. • Active/current Pharmacy Technician License required. Registration(s) required by state in which pharmacy is located. • Required to pass the Texas certification test and a visual competency. Working Conditions • This position requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time including majority of shifts. Walking, kneeling and bending frequently. • Pushing/Pulling totes of product on carts. • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move totes of product weighing over 40 pounds. We strongly encourage team lift. • Employees will be required to read small print. • Required to don Gown and PPE. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
