Responsible for preparing items for shipping, confirming, and record the receipt of shipments and load and unload trucks as well as for routing items received to personnel and departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information, quantities, weights, and measurements against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, and other records.
  • Determine the appropriate shipping methos based on departmental procedures and shipment requirements.
  • Accurately pack medications, supplies, and other items to ensure the correct products are shipped to the correct address.
  • Assemble cardboard boxes and containers or select appropriately sized preassembled containers for shipments.
  • Properly label, stamp, stencil, or otherwise mark boxes, crates, and containers with shipping information, handling instructions, and destination details.
  • Apply postage, shipping labels, and other required documentation to outgoing shipments.
  • Record shipment weights, postage, and shipping charges accurately.
  • Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Document damaged or missing items and communicate with shipping providers to resolve issues and obtain replacements or corrections.
  • Notify the supervisor promptly of shipping or receiving issues that may affect customers or departmental operations.
  • Log incoming items and route shipments to the appropriate departments.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and compliance with established specifications and procedures.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies and request replenishment as needed.
  • Complete daily end-of-day FedEx shipping reports and required documentation.
  • Perform routine facilities support, including minor building repairs and daily removal of trash from the main break area.
  • Follow all departmental procedures and maintain accurate records throughout the shipping and receiving process.

Set yourself apart
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Computer literacy, including but not limited to Windows, Office 365 Suites, and Microsoft Teams.

Working Conditions
  • This position required standing for extended periods of time including majority of shifts. Walking, kneeling and bending frequently.
  • Employees will be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Employees will be required to read small print.
