About the Job
The Warehouse Operator / Materials Specialist plays a critical, pharmacy-supporting role within a compounding pharmacy warehouse environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all materials, supplies, and inventory required for pharmacy operations are available, accurate , compliant, and received ahead of need. Acting as the primary point of contact for all pharmacy inventory questions, this role requires proactive planning, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of compounding workflows. The individual in this role directly supports patient safety, production efficiency, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manager inventory levels to support pharmacy operation by forecasting demand, monitoring usage trends, and ensuring timely replenishment of materials and supplies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related inquiries and proactively address shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Receive, inspect, and document inbound materials, ensuring accuracy, quality, regulatory compliance, and proper lot/expiration tracking.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and non-conforming materials.
  • Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, reconciliation activities, barcoding, and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Ensure inventory date, item records, locations, and tracking information remain accurate within inventory management systems.
  • Store, organize, pick, stage, and distribute materials using FIFO/FEFO principles while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment.
  • Support pharmacy production by ensuring materials are readily available and efficiently delivered as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements related to compounding pharmacy operations.
  • Participate in SOP development, process improvement initiatives, recall activities, and other projects to improve operational efficiency and inventory control.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2+ years of warehouse, inventory, or materials management experience preferred.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, compounding, pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated environment strongly preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including but not limited to Windows, Office 365 Suites, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions
  • This position requires standing for extended periods of time including majority of shifts. Walking, kneeling and bending frequently.
  • Employees will be required to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Employees will be required to read small print.
