Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery (L&D) plays a vital role in supporting women during the labor process and childbirth. This position requires a compassionate approach and expertise in maternal and neonatal care, ensuring safe and healthy deliveries while providing emotional support to families. The L&D RN will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,900
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, identifying and managing complications as needed.
  • Assist with labor management techniques and provide appropriate pain relief options for patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate safe and effective birthing experiences.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding the labor and delivery process, potential complications, and newborn care.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in medical records.
  • Support families by providing emotional support and guidance throughout the labor and delivery process.

Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree acceptable with relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or maternal care is preferred.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required; NRP certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to women and newborns.
