The primary focus of this position is to provide excellent customer service to physicians and patients referred for appointments/services at USF Health. Serves as the point of contact for patients being referred to USF Health to schedule provider referred appointments/services within the practice plan. Screens and processes internal referrals generated by USF Health and/or outside providers.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience and Additional Information
• 3 years of customer service experience in healthcare
• Completion of 6-month probationary period in USF Patient Access Center
• Demonstration of accurate scheduling and registration for assigned areas within referral service
Duties & Responsibilities
• Process and track patient referrals for all departments for timely transfer of patients and record
• Receive and review individual productivity reports to self monitor and improve performance if required
• Identify and route patient appointment information to the correct recipient via computer database and/or telephone call
• May assist in monitoring electronic faxing referral authorization requests and EMR in basket messages to address messages for authorization
• Assure quality through review and reports to identify and route patient appointment information to the correct recipient via
computer database and/or telephone call
• Interact with clinical staff and assist with referrals for timely and efficient proce
• Perform Patient Access functions for all specialties and divisions such as registration, pre-registration, scheduling, and benefit verification to ensure daily operations are maintained according to standard
• Assist in monitoring electronic faxing referral authorization requests and EMR in basket messages to address messages for authorizations
