Job Description:

$10k Sign on Bonus for *Eligible candidates

up to $10k for relocation for *Eligible candidates

Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and trace electrical pathways. Scans, correlates, and clips studies accurately. Observes EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity. Explains testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines. Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources. Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians. Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as requested. Maintains diagnostic testing equipment and supplies. Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units. Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs) while adhering to protocols and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Maintains accurate archive and retrieval systems for original EEG tracings. Attends monthly staff meetings and other meetings as requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately

• Ability to use technologies to measure brain activities and circulation

• Ability to train and mentor staff and students through specialized imaging

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Ability to perform quality END procedures to include but not limited to EEG, Ambulatory EEG, LTM, and NCS following ACNS and AANEM guidelines

• Organizational skills

• Verbal interpersonal skills

• Customer relations skills

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:

• 2+ experience in performance of procedures in a patient care environment [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Electroencephalography Technician (REEGT) [Preferred]
• American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologis (ABRET) [Preferred]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$21.56 - $40.09
