The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for managing overall daily operations of the Laundry Room to deliver an excellent Guest and member experience while ensuring quality controls and guest inquiries.

- Manage overall daily operations of the Laundry Department
- Ensure quality controls are in place for all laundry processes, rejecting any exceptions
- Fills in positions in Laundry when needed (due to absences, breaks, etc.).
- Train, develop, and appraise the laundry team
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area
- Monitor linen and supplies and advise manager when reordering is needed.
- Ensure par stocks are maintained
- Take receipt of stock and ensure safe storage
- Manage customer service issues quickly and effectively
- Oversee the issuing of linen via a requisition system
- Ensure team members adhere to all Health and Safety regulations
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks set by the hotel's management
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

- Coordinate maintenance with laundry mechanics
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by manager
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Knowledge of stain removal and chemical agents, and operation of various cleaning equipment
- Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete forms such as a status report, detailed written pass on log and work ticket requests and assign written special assignments.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy cleaning equipment, and stand for extended periods of time. (Lifting may also include furniture weighing up to 100 lbs).
- Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadline.
- Ability to exercise professional judgement, decision-making and implement professional control over the performance and conduct of subordinates.
- Ability to perform all positions in the laundry including safe and proper operation of all equipment.
- Ability to walk continuously and climb stairs.
WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred but not necessary
- Minimum supervisory experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience preferred.
- Previous experience preferred including knowledge laundry supplies and equipment.
- No special licenses or certificates required.
- Knowledge of other languages desirable.
