  • Facility: Outpatient Tampa
  • Location: Tampa, FL
  • Status: Full Time
  • Shift Hours: 7:00am- 3:30pm
  • Weekend Work: Occasional
  • On Call: Yes

Responsibilities:

The Lab Support Staff Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the daily operations
  • Prioritize and Delegate the Technical and Administrative functions of the assigned section
  • Develop staffing plans, monitor time and attendance and perform payroll functions
  • Act as a preceptor for the new hires and facilitate department in-services
  • Monitor and Maintain adequate supply levels
  • Participate in regulatory surveys
  • Coordinate the collecting, receiving, and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
  • Refer specimens to outside laboratories
  • Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
  • Performance of phlebotomy procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Required: 4 years Clinical Related experience
  • Preferred: 1 year Phlebotomy

Education:

  • Required High School or equivalent

Credentials:

  • Phlebotomy Certification within 1 year of hire (ASCP, ASPT or AMT)
  • ORBayCare Client Service classes (3 approved CBTs and 1 approved class) within 1 year of hire. BayCare Client Services classes in lieu of Phlebotomy certification is only acceptable for Positions with no possibility or expectation of performing phlebotomy.

Credential equivalent experience:

  • Preferred Phlebotomy
