Representative Duties
The Middle District of Florida is seeking a mission-driven professional to serve as a full-time Information Technology Technician. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, combined with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, a solid work ethic, and resilience. This meaningful career opportunity is based in the Tampa Division.
The IT Technician will provide support to the respective Division for local computer systems, including networks, personal computers, and portable electronic devices. The role also involves supporting various off-the-shelf software applications, major national systems, and locally developed systems.

  • Provide support for audio-visual equipment in courtrooms, conference rooms, and shared spaces, including systems used for evidence presentation during hearings and trials.
  • Set up and tear down audio-visual equipment for special events, including speakers, microphones, projectors, large-screen monitors, cabling, and other video components.
  • Configure and deploy mobile devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and its collaboration tools, including SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, and Teams.
  • Assist with the installation of new or updated releases of nationally supported software systems.
  • Install and troubleshoot software and advise court staff on its use to support their duties.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation on software applications used in court operations.
  • Monitor daily IT operations and act as a technical support resource for resolving computer system issues.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel across the five divisional offices of Middle Florida to coordinate and standardize IT developments, techniques, and user programs.
  • Apply technical knowledge to recommend IT equipment when new hardware is required.
  • Configure and recommend hardware as directed by IT management for deployment; provide ongoing help desk support for all IT-related equipment.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities, including receiving, tracking, and updating IT equipment within a nationally supported database system.
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of modern programming languages, concepts, and development practices.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience at progressively responsible levels in IT systems, data processing, and data communications, including IT applications, terminology, and methodology.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment of IT project assignments that involved analysis, implementation, integration, and management.
  • Ability to implement software and hardware to provide technical support for a user base of up to 150.
  • Microsoft Office 365 certification preferred. CompTIA A+ and Net+ certifications preferred.
  • LAN/WAN experience preferred.
  • Applicant should work well within a team, be able to prioritize tasks and make technical decisions through methodical troubleshooting and research.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide variety of people tactfully and courteously.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments with frequent
