Job Summary: We are seeking a bilingual (English & Spanish), reliable and safety-focused Class A Truck Driver to transport materials and products both locally and across state lines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations, and providing excellent service while representing the company professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local and interstate deliveries
- Transport materials, equipment, and products to designated locations in a timely manner
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues
- Ensure proper loading, securement, and unloading of cargo in compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and required documentation
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers
- Plan and follow efficient routes while adhering to scheduled delivery times
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicles
- Provide courteous and professional customer service at delivery sites
Requirements:
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with interstate and local routes.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to operate a truck in a safe and efficient manner.
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Ability to frequently enter and exit the vehicle cab, including climbing steps and maintaining three points of contact.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, reach, and perform other physical movements required to complete deliveries and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Ability to secure, inspect, and handle cargo, including the use of straps, chains, tarps, and other load-securing equipment, as applicable.
- Ability to perform pre-trip, post-trip, and roadside inspections, including checking tires, lights, fluid levels, and other vehicle components.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles under varying road, weather, traffic, and environmental conditions.
- Ability to maintain sufficient manual dexterity to operate vehicle controls, navigation devices, communication equipment, and delivery documentation systems.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, and environmental conditions.
- Ability to maintain sufficient visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to safely operate a commercial vehicle; read road signs, traffic signals, maps, GPS devices, delivery documents, and vehicle gauges; judge distances and clearances; and identify hazards, pedestrians, obstacles, and changing traffic conditions.
- Ability to maintain sufficient peripheral vision, depth perception, and color recognition to safely maneuver vehicles and recognize traffic signals, roadway markings, warning lights, and safety indicators.
- Ability to maintain sufficient hearing ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to hear horns, sirens, backup alarms, warning signals, vehicle sounds indicating potential mechanical issues, and other auditory cues necessary for safe vehicle operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, dispatch personnel, supervisors, and coworkers in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication devices.
- Ability to remain alert, attentive, and focused for extended periods while driving and performing safety-sensitive job duties.
- Ability to safely navigate customer locations, warehouses, loading docks, construction sites, and other delivery environments.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as business needs require.
