About the Job
This is a Tampa, FL based role! We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Property Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in property management accounting, financial reporting, and operational support. You will work closely with our team to help ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial activities related to real estate assets. This internship provides valuable exposure to the property accounting field and an opportunity to work on real-world accounting challenges. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and grow in the field of accounting, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
The role would require 12-20 hours/per week, with flexibility based on class schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements for property portfolios.
- Support the reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledgers for assigned properties.
- Help in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions related to properties.
- Assist with tracking and managing property-related expenses, such as utilities, repairs, and maintenance.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in the review of property financial reports for accuracy.
- Help with tenant billing, lease accounting, and other property-related accounting functions.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support senior accountants and management.
- Collaborate with other departments such as property management and operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with year-end audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
- Support ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited university or college, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
