Job Summary and Qualifications:

We are seeking a Mental Health Professional III - Licensed Intake Specialist to join our team. You will conduct patient intake screenings to ensure all patients receive accurate placement according to medical criteria facilitating high quality, efficient care in a psychiatric environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will conduct patient-centered intake screenings utilizing appropriate medical necessity criteria.
• You will facilitate the determination whether a patient meet admission criteria or referral to community resource is required, working with Physician to ensure appropriate disposition.
• You will develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies that provide funding sources.
• You will assesses potential funding sources for patients and coordinates insurance and private pay billings as needed.
• You will work collaboratively with other community medical facilities/agencies to obtain appropriate authorizations for patient care.
• You will collaborate medical treatment with third party payers and utilization review department to qualify patients for current or continued care needs, obtaining pre-admission authorization prior to admission.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed as a RN, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT in accordance with state regulations
• If an RN, BSN Preferred or Master in Human Services (Psych, Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
• American Heart Association BLS
• Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) training required.
• 1 yr experience in an acute care facility, 2 years Behavioral Health experience preferred.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Other-Fingerprint Required
• Masters Degree
• (LCSW) Clinical Social Worker, or (LPC/LMHC) Licensed Professional/Mental Health Counselor, or (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or (PSYCH) Psychologist
