Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Job Description
CNA Responsibilities:
- Provide great patient care.
- Answer patient calls and determine how best to assist them.
- Provide physical support for patients or residents with daily activities Toileting, Walking,?
Standing, Exercising, Eating/Diet, Medication Assistance, Vital Signs, Basic First Aid and CPR, Hygiene: Bathing, Grooming, Shaving, Dental Care, Dressing?
- Obtain a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
- Following the client's service plan & documenting any changes in the client's condition
- Ensure patients receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food?
allergies, and preferences.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting?
changes to medical or nursing staff.
- Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as?
requested by staff.
- Ambulation and transfer, including positioning;Turn and reposition bedridden patients
- Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
- Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements
- Note/Document observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses
- Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedures
- Home management, home safety and sanitation; Infection control in the home
