Engagement Manager - CTO in Process Industries
Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds, thereby improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrives is if our people are thriving. That's why we always put our people first. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?
Siemens Digital Industries is hiring an Engagement Manager (EM) to lead architect a small portfolio of strategic end-user accounts in the process industries: Chemicals, Glass, Energy, Life Sciences, and Consumer Packaged Goods.
The scope of this role is automation in manufacturing environments — process control systems, batch and continuous production, plant-floor operations technology, predictive maintenance, IT/OT with an emphasis of industrial AI in operations, and the modernization of legacy control system installed base.
The EM spearheads the technical and commercial engagement across the process industries accounts. You will define the multi-year automation "first of's" and modernization roadmaps for each customer, architect the lifecycle program that delivers it, and lead the cross-functional team that sells and executes it. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports; you will lead through influence across sales, product, services, marketing, and customer executive stakeholders.
This position is remote with the flexibility to reside anywhere within the Continental United States.
This position is remote with the flexibility to reside anywhere within the Continental United States.
You'll make an impact by:
- You architect the automation in manufacturing vision and map the customer from where they are to where they want to be, with the lifecycle program to get them there.
- Own the multi-year outcome roadmap for a small set of strategic accounts — from C-suite ambition (operational performance, modernization ROI, time-to-value, sustainability targets) to the technical execution that makes it real.
- Protect scope integrity end-to-end. No surprise scope creep. No "we'll figure it out in execution." You are the integrity check between what was sold and what gets delivered.
- Compress order closure speed on your accounts — you are the roadblock breaker, the escalation path, the deal architect.
- Build next-wave pipeline from inside the install base, and the champion for new large labels — every closed deal is a launchpad for the next three. Cross-portfolio thinking is the default, not the upsell.
- Orchestrate cross-functional account teams — sellers, application engineers, product specialists, service leads, and partners — toward one coherent engagement.
- Coach by example. No org chart authority required — your influence comes from being the most prepared, most strategic, and most outcome-focused person in the room.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years in the process industries — Chemicals, Energy, Life Sciences, or Consumer Packaged Goods.
- Worked as the end-user in any of the process industries
- As senior Systems Integrator architecting automation solutions in these industries
- You are an automation-in-manufacturing Subject Matter Expert — practitioner-grade.
- You have personally designed, production automation systems: control system architectures, batch and continuous process control, IT/OT convergence, predictive maintenance, plant network and infrastructure design, and modernization/migration paths from legacy installed base to current-generation platforms.
- Demonstrated ownership of large, strategic end-user accounts — multi-site, multi-stakeholder, multi-year.
- You have personally architected and sold lifecycle contracts. Multi-year service and lifecycle agreements, performance-based contracts, managed services, outcome-based agreements, and subscription or as-a-service commercial models.
- The ability to translate technical complexity → executive clarity and back again.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Travel requirements 30%-35%.
