Schedule/Hours: Monday and Wednesday evenings 2:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

This position is responsible for:

Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities. Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up food donations and deliver to The Salvation Army Food Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides transportation for members to and from the Corps.

  • Provides transportation for children to and from on program nights/mid-week activities

  • Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

  • Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.

  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

  • Ability to spend the night away from home due to extended trips.

  • Ability to maintain required licenses and certifications required of the position.

  • Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND

  • Two years' experience operating an automotive vehicle OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid State Driver's License
