Position Summary

Trailer Bridge is seeking a mechanically inclined Trailer & Reefer Maintenance Technician to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of refrigerated containers and trailer equipment at our Jacksonville facility. This role is ideal for candidates with trailer, diesel, fleet, container, or heavy equipment maintenance experience who are looking to expand their skills within reefer equipment and transportation operations.

This is not a fully specialized refrigeration technician role - advanced refrigeration diagnostics and major system repairs are coordinated through third-party vendors. We are open to candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, preventative maintenance experience, welding exposure, or trailer repair backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect refrigerated trailers to ensure units and related components are operating safely and efficiently
  • Perform preventative maintenance on reefer trailers, including belts, electrical components, and supporting mechanical systems
  • Assist with diagnostics and coordinate repairs with external refrigeration service providers
  • Perform general trailer repair and maintenance including structural, electrical, and mechanical components
  • Prepare units for vendor refrigeration service and assist with troubleshooting operational issues
  • Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs in maintenance tracking systems
  • Ensure equipment meets company safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime

Qualifications
  • Experience in trailer repair or mechanical maintenance preferred
  • Interest in learning transport refrigeration equipment and systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a shop environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with refrigerated trailers or fleet maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with Thermo King or Carrier units is a plus but not required
