The College of Fine Arts at Florida State University is seeking a dynamic and solutions-oriented College Facilities Officer to oversee facilities operations, space planning, safety compliance, equipment stewardship, and capital improvement projects across the College. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, functional, and effective learning, performance, and creative spaces while partnering with college and university stakeholders to support strategic priorities, operational excellence, and future growth.

The College is a close-knit community of faculty, students, and professionals that functions as an art and design conservatory and liberal arts hybrid within a major research university. It is home to a unique combination of visual arts, performing art, and design studios, classrooms, performance spaces, galleries, and a museum. The College comprises the School of Dance, the School of Theatre, the School of Design, the Department of Art, the Department of Arts Leadership, Education & Therapy, and the Department of Art History.
The College also houses several non-academic units, including the Museum of Fine Arts (MoFA), the Facility for Arts Research (FAR), and the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC). Many of the College's programs rank among the most respected in the nation and feature specialized programs that leverage relationships between departments and museums to enrich the degree-based curriculum.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, functional, and effective learning, performance, and creative spaces while partnering with college and university stakeholders to support strategic priorities, operational excellence, and future growth.
- Direct facility operations, including renovations, maintenance, repairs, building projects, space planning, and long-range facilities development.
- Serve as the primary liaison with FSU Facilities, FSU Police, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors for all facilities-related matters.
- Manage space utilization, building security, access control, key management, and departmental occupancy needs across the College.
- Oversee stewardship, maintenance, and replacement planning for major equipment, vehicles, and other College assets.
- Supervise personnel supporting facilities, security, equipment management, and operational functions.
- Lead procurement and contract management for facilities services, maintenance agreements, building improvements, and related purchases.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, and effective management of College facilities and equipment.
- Serve as the College's primary resource for facility safety, safety training, chemical inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor facilities and equipment budgets, obtain competitive quotes, evaluate expenditures, and provide recommendations on major investments and resource allocations.
- Partner with College leadership to establish strategic priorities for facilities, equipment, capital improvements, emergency needs, and future growth initiatives.
- Represent the College on University committees, councils, and work groups while maintaining partnerships with campus stakeholders to advance College priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two years work experience in facilities maintenance, operation management or related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience in the same. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years in the same.)
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
