Job Description:

Develops, produces, and delivers ongoing training for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), including new hire training, preceptor programs, and additional education as needed. Audits new CDI members during their 90-day probationary period, providing written and verbal updates to the CDI Manager/team leads and CDI Director, and offers additional education based on audit results. Audits Clinical Documentation Specialists' concurrent cases to identify missed documentation opportunities. Reviews and revises CDI policies and job descriptions annually or as needed. Identifies community resources and coordinates education opportunities for CDI staff, including webinars and continuing education. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Clinical Documentation in Revenue Cycle or Quality-related projects. Provides train-the-trainer, super-user, and end-user training on Cerner and Iodine solutions, offering follow-up support both on-site and remotely. Assists in auditing, tracking, and reporting metrics that measure Clinical Documentation Integrity compliance activities, providing process improvement recommendations to the corporate director. Actively participates in system updates and testing for Cerner and Iodine solution software prior to and during system conversion. Serves as a liaison between CDI leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners, ensuring effective communication. Participates in educational strategies and develops training materials for system conversions. Presents educational material to target groups through various forums, including video conferences, webinars, and on-site training. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication techniques in oral and written form [Required]• Knowledge of computers including advanced skill in Windows and Outlook [Required]• Comfortable in a complex and changing healthcare environment [Required]• Ability to instruct educational training to varied groups of adult learners in various settings [Required]• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solves skills and the ability to analyze complex data [Required]• Proficiency in use of spreadsheets and report software [Required]• Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage others [Required]• Advocate with strong change management skills [Required]• Ability to navigate and utilize other related software and databases for educating new system end-users [Required]• Current knowledge of Clinical Documentation Integrity key accountabilities and goals for best practice [Required]• Knowledge of medical record investigative review [Required]• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding compliance and regulations [Required]• Proficiency with CDI-type application such as Iodine [Required]• Knowledge of hospital reimbursement models and trends and their impact to the AHS health system [Preferred]• Strong analytical and problem solves skills [Preferred]• Proficiency with Iodine software [Preferred]
Education:
• Bachelor's [Required]• Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• Technical School with concentration of in Back Office Operations/Medical Assistant

Work Experience:
• 5+ experience in acute care facility with clinical practice [Required]• 2+ experience as a clinical documentation specialist [Required]• 1+ experience as a CDI preceptor or staff educator [Preferred]
Additional Information:
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:

- Bachelor's degree AND 5+ years of experience OR

- Associates degree AND 7+ years of experience OR

- High School Grad or Equiv AND 9+ years of experience

Pay Range:

$72,786.83 - $135,385.27
