The Breast Coordinator 3 serves as a senior-level contact and coordination for patients, providers, and imaging staff throughout the breast imaging process. The role applies advanced clinical knowledge to oversee the tracking and management of diagnostic findings and biopsy recommendations, ensuring timely, accurate follow-up and intervention for higher-acuity cases. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the position facilitates clear, compassionate communication and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care. Additionally, Breast Coordinator 3 contributes to workflow efficiency and team development, serving as a subject matter expert while promoting a seamless, organized, and patient-centered imaging experience..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review, track, and manage breast imaging results,obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and image

• Utilize EHR systems, and Digital Faxes to retrieve imaging orders, document patient activity, and maintain accurate records.

• Review/ assist multiple imaging center schedules for breast imaging order accuracy, obtain prior imaging as needed, utilizing the imaging work queue.

• Contact referring physicians via phone or fax to obtain missing, corrected, or additional orders as required.

• Contact patients in a compassionate, professional manner to communicate results under the direction of the radiologist or referring physician.

• Manage and schedule additional diagnostic/ biopsy examinations or follow-up imaging as recommended by the radiologist or referring provider.

• Communicate efficiently with referring physician offices, facilitators, transcriptionists, managers, and imaging staff to coordinate care.

• Fax status sheets, scan confirmations, and supporting documentation into the patient account and file appropriately in a timely manner.

• Assist physician offices, patients, and TGH Imaging facilities with scheduling, order clarification, and related workflow issues.

• Support leadership in development of policies and procedures and precept new team member

• Escalate workload or physician concerns to the leader, and perform other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• High school graduate or GED.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of three years' experience in breast imaging.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Expert level knowledge of breast imaging processes, BI-RADS categories and medical terminology, with understanding of follow-up recommendations.

• Excellent knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations, including secure handling and documentation of protected health information.

• Professional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey sensitive and abnormal results compassionately and clearly.

• Seasoned in electronic health record (EHR) systems, Digital Faxes, and scheduling platforms to retrieve, track, and document patient information.

• Strong organizational, tracking, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple patients, reports, and referrals simultaneously.

• Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, physician offices, facilitators, transcriptionists, and leadership.

• Assists manager by educating Physician offices to promote and grow the women's imaging program.
