Position Description: RN - Assistant Nurse Manager - Surgical unit

BayCare Health System is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our outstanding and compassionate Med/Surg - Surgical unit team at St. Joseph's Hospital as an Assistant Nurse Manager. As part of the community since 1934, St. Joseph's Hospital has been a partner for continued health and wellness.

This med/surg surgical unit specializes in pre and post op surgical patients, mainly GI/GU, trauma patients and any general surgery.

The Assistant Nurse Manager responsibilities include:

    • Proficiency in the care of a patient population utilizing effective managerial skills.
    • Supporting the Nurse Manager in a supervisory capacity while managing team member and patient care issues.
    • Supporting the ongoing team member performance appraisal, hiring, and counseling and terminating process.
    • Acting as a role model for other team members and the communication of organizational information.
    • Performing other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Certifications and Licensures:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required
    • RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
    • RN Nursing Specialty certification is preferred

    Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field is required.

    Experience:
    • 2 years of RN experience in acute care, post-acute, or sub-acute experience.
    • 1 year of leadership experience is preferred.
